Light // East 42nd Street

Hey,

I shot this photo some minutes before I took Grace / West 42nd. It makes me think, somehow.

I’ve got a new toy

Hey,

I saw my sister, for the first time since my birthday, last week. We had a really good weekend at my parents house, and she and her boyfriend made me a really great gift for my birthday. A Fujifilm Instax mini 7s.

I really enjoyed the camera so far. It takes film packs for ten exposures of credit card sized photos.

The pictures are kind of tiny, but it is really fascinating to see a photo develop within about a minute. It wasn’t designed to compete with a SLR/DSLR, rather as a fun gadget. In the end its fun, real fun. 😉 I think I’ll present you some results, when I find a way to scan these.

Another great aspect is that you can create these cool photo-in-photo-photos, the instant was taken a day before I took the picture. @Adrian: It’s ISO 5000 f/25. 😉

It feels good to shoot film again.

Spring in Massachusetts // The Esplanade // Boston

Hey,

as you might know I spent two weeks in the United States,  in spring, with my girlfriend. She still had to work during the first days, so I had a lot of time to discover Cambridge and Boston on my own. On the first day, April 25th, I walked down Massachusetts Avenue and crossed Charles River over the Harvard Bridge. After walking through the center of Boston I discovered the Charles River Esplanade Park, an amazing little park on the banks of Charles River, part of it is on small (artificial?) islands in the river. There are lots of cherry trees, and in spring it just looked fantastic, with the blossoming cherry trees everywhere. (There are cherry trees almost everywhere near Charles River, especially in Cambridge whole Streets were lined with trees full of white blossoms (more photos are on their way 😉 )  And as you probably see, the weather was all sunny for almost all the time, there only were some clouds one morning in New York. I really enjoyed the park, and so did others. 😉 Such a great place.

I’m almost done working through almost 4000 photos I took. Down to ~3000 at the moment. I think I’ll be done with selecting the final photos in some weeks. 😉 So there’ll be more posts every now and then.

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi

P.S. What do you think of my new header?

Hein // Boston Museum of Fine Arts

Hey,

I saw this in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Great Place, been there twice, within a week.

This is a great Artwork bei Jeppe Hein, it appears all neon white/blue when you look at it, but when you

photograph it, well then, it changes to yellow. And the special thing about it is, it does that kind of randomly.

Have a good night.

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi

Hey,

jsut just a quick photo for you guys. I took this on the first of May in Midtown NYC, I think on 42nd street. I’m just working through loads of photos from the USA trip.

I think I’ll post a report with a lot of pictures sometime next week.

Hey,

I’m sorry for being so inactive recently. I’m busy with writing a paper, for university, and exams are coming up next month. So I won’t be online that much for the next couple of weeks.

I took this photo on West 42nd street, right from the sidewalk, of Bryant Park. Lovely Place, but I like the Union Square  Park even more. I hit the trigger of my camera a several thousand times, while I was in Boston & New York. So there are a lot of photos to show to you.

In this photo, I really like the movement of the people, that ‘s what makes the picture for me.

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi

Hey all,

over the last two weeks I had a wonderful holiday in the United States with my girlfriend, visiting Cambridge, Boston and New York (Both are absolutely great cities 😉 )  I really enjoyed the trip, so far, and tonight I’ll be heading back to Germany, so you can expect tons of photos over the next weeks.

In New York, we stayed at a friends apartment, located at the north shore of Staten Island. As you might guess this amazing view is from the apartments living room. Almost all of the time we had amazing sunny weather, except this one  morning two days ago. 😉

I edited the photo in Lightroom to enhance the dramatic look a little.

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi
