A story to be told

Dear all,

I saw this in Amsterdam, near the (or in) the red light district, which is basically the center of the city. 😉

He probably has lots of stories to tell.

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi

Empire State Building I

Dear all,

we all have probably seen this view a thousand times before, but this is my personal capture from the top of the Empire State Building, facing north towards Central Park. We (by now it’s me) visited the Empire State Building on the first evening of our NYC-trip in May this year, it was a fantastic experience. A moment I won’t forget. I definitely miss New York, somehow there is something very special about this city. Maybe I should try to get a job in NYC after finishing my masters, next year. Click on the picture to see a larger version.

Enjoy & take care (my jacket got stolen last night, so take extra care this time),

A bar in Amsterdam / my nine lives

Hey,

when I was in Amsterdam for the weekend 2 weeks ago, with some friends, I spent the Sunday afternoon alone. First I went to the Van Gogh Museum (it was awesome), what was the reason I spent the afternoon alone, because none of my friends wanted to go. After the Museum I somehow spent the rest of the day by myself which was a really good experience. Especially when I found a nice bar, grabbed the only magazine that was in English and had a beer. It was a really good experience just to be by myself, observing the surroundings and chatting with the bar tender every now and then.

These are some of the photos I took while being there. I especially liked the phrase “My nine lives…” it makes me remember how perfect life is. =)

Enjoy & take care,

Jimi

It was a beautiful evening, somehow I miss New York.

Lauren in Liège

I took this photo on the same trip to Liège where I took this picture of Clara. Somehow I was reminded of Thomas Höpkers famous photo of Muhammad Ali whilst taking the shot. Anyway I don’t want to place myself on the same level as a world-famous photographer working for Magnum.

Enjoy & take care,

Chasing Doves at the Sacré-CÅ“ur

Hey,

as you might have noticed many big cities are overcrowded with doves and many people really detest them. Anyway, in my opinion it is quite interesting to take photos of doves, as a kind of a proxy for urban photography.  Around the Sacré-Cœur in Paris there were a lot of doves, mainly unnoticed by most of the people passing by.

Anyhow a little boy really fascinated me, by chasing the doves for quite a long time (at least 20 minutes, I hat to wait at the bottom of the hill, because Lesley and I lost the rest of our group while walking through the church). While waiting I took about ten photos of the little boy and I think that this one turned out really good.

Just after leaving the terrain of the church and the surrounding park i saw this piece of street-art sprayed on the sidewalk. I really enjoyed alteration of the Disney logo.

Hey,

as I promised there are more photos of Paris coming. 😉 As you know me and my photography by now I don’t usually (well sometimes I do) publish the most touristic photos in the first place.

So I took this photo in the Quick fast food store (A brand thats mostly active in Belgium, France and Luxembourg) thats located in the quarter Montmartre right next to the “Le Moulin Rouge” you might know.

Enjoy & take care,
